We Started Nothing by The Ting Tings
I just finished listening to this cd. I began not really knowing what to expect but I didn’t really enjoy this cd. I found that the lyrics were hard to understand in some songs and in the songs that you could hear the lyrics they didn’t make sense. I think that the songs were very poppy and not as catchy as I expected. Mostly I felt that the songs were annoying and I didn’t enjoy this cd at all.
This is only my opinion so feel free to try it but this reviewer wouldn’t recommend it.

Twilight by Various Artists
The Twilight CD is in! For everyone who loved the twilight books or the movie, you’ll love the CD! This CD is packed with great songs for all ages. If you are into romantic or calming music than you’ll love to listen to “Bella’s lullaby” by Carter Burwell. Although there are no words to this song it is a great and beautiful song. If you’re into mysterious songs than you’ll love this CD. Some great mysterious songs from this CD are: Full moon or Tremble for my Beloved. Another good song from this CD is “Leave out all the rest” by: Linkin Park. Although there are great songs some are a bit repetitive but this CD is still a great CD to have.

The Red Album by Weezer
The red album, another great work by the rock band Weezer, is sure to be a general crowd pleaser.
For those familiar with the band, the tracks will bring back memories of earlier hits in the themes, melodies, and styles they utilize throughout, and for first time listeners, the wide array of musical styles they employ will ensure at least one of the songs will be a hit with you.
One of the best things about Weezer is the fact that they employ more than one genre from song to song, unlike most modern bands, which tend to have the same sound in all of their songs. One track may have a simple pop beat, some have a heavy punk influence, and others are retro style soft rock tunes.
The songs on a whole tell a story, about growing up and trying to find your way in a crazy and/or indifferent world. This can apply to any listener, no matter what their values are, where they live, and what age you are. Truth be told, it is not exactly the most moving music compilation ever recorded, but it is guaranteed to speak to you on some level.
Due to personal tastes, I liked specific songs better than others, and they have earned spots on my iPod, but no matter what songs you enjoy, I guarantee you this album is enjoyable from the beginning to the end.

Every Second Counts by the Plain White T’s
The Plain White T’s newest album is called Every Second Counts. It’s a pretty good CD and it has the hit song “Hey there Delilah” I think its a good CD because none of the songs sound alike and they all have different beats and tempo’s to them. I also found it easy to connect their music and lyrics. My favourite song on the CD is called “You and Me.” I like it because it’s upbeat and original. My least favourite song is called “Let me take you there.” I did not like it that musch because its kind of slow and boring. Overall, I strongly recommed this CD to anyone who likes rock/punk music.

Simple Plan by Simple Plan
When I first put on this CD I was surprised because the songs didn’t sound like anything that I had known Simple Plan to sound like comparing it to their other albums. When I listened to the whole CD, I realized that they didnt stick with one sound for the whole disk either. There were a lot of songs that sounded sort of pop-like and there were others that were like ballads and then a few that were like their previous rock sound. I didn’t feel like the lyrics were strong or about things people want to listen to. A lot of them were about love and breakups. I felt this CD was alright although it could have been better.

Liverpool 8 by Ringo Starr
This CD is fun to listen to, and it’s pretty much everthing an above average CD needs to be, but my one problem with it that there’s nothing really NEW and DIFFERENT in it that makes me go “woahhhh!” I mean this is Ringo Starr’s 14th solo album so you’d think he’s start branching off at least A LITTLE by now to different sounds, not just slow sad love songs with acoustic guitars like Pasadobles and happy UPBEAT songs with weird guitar effects and lots of voices singing at the same time like Think About You.
One thing I did like was that Ringo’s able to have sort of a MODERN sound that is appealing and crazy to young hooligans like me and still have a BEATLES feel to the music.

Arguably the best new Canadian artists out there right now. Identical twins Ryan and Dan have just released their debut self-titled album. Their music combines classical instrumentals and amazing vocals and will win even the toughest critics over. Even if classical/pop music isn’t your thing, I strongly suggest you check these guys out..you might be suprised!

Thursday - A City By The Light Divided (4.5/5)
Clearly, the message, if any, is open to interpretation, but my take on it is this… Thursday, are undoubtedly a great band. They helped define ‘post hardcore’ with Full Collapse, and ‘War All The Time’, although good, fell short. So ‘A City By The Light Divided’ is their as-good-as-it-gets come back. It does however, present the fact that ‘War All The time’ was a transition for the band; and that transition comes to a close with this CD, which combines elements of both the previous albums and more.
As far as post-hardcore goes, some may argue that the genre has been stretched as far as it can. Thursday, helped plan the original genre, so why on earth should they not smash the boundries?
