Reading Buddies

Be a Reading Buddy! We are looking for high school student volunteers to be paired up with children who are currently enrolled in Grades 1 – 4. Participants will help children practice reading and participate in literacy-based games and activities. This is a fun way to earn community service hours.

Tuesdays from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m for grades 1-4.

Wednesday  from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m for grades 1-4.

Thursday from 4:00 - 5:00 for grades 1-4.

Applications are available at the Children's and Adult Information desk at the Central Library. Apply soon, as we will be interviewing in early January!

          *** Reading Buddies will now be offered at the Brooklin Branch as well. ***

Hi there!

Reading Buddies applications are available now at the Main Floor Information Desk. We will be accepting applications over next few weeks and the session will begin sometime in October. We will be updating the website when an official date has been chosen.

I was wondering if this program is also held at the whitby rossland branch, or if it's just available at the main branch?

At the present time, Reading Buddies is only available at the Central Library.
